‘BEING STEVE’
What do Sondheim, Schwartz and Flaherty have in common? Well, they all share the same first name, but what is more binding is their illustrious Broadway careers as composers and lyricists of some of the world’s most beloved and award winning musicals!
With works spanning over many decades, Musical Theatre would not be the same without the genius of Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, and Stephen Flaherty. Between them, the three “Steves”, have either composed the music for or written the lyrics to such mega-hit musicals as Sweeney Todd, Into The Woods, Sunday In The Park With George, Wicked, Godspell, Pippin, Anastasia, Once On This Island and Ragtime to name just a few.
For its final production of the year, the Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) are excited to present “Being Steve”, a tribute to three Broadway legends that will renew your faith in music and the performing arts in a way that only the music of Sondheim, Schwartz and Flaherty can.
‘BEING STEVE’ runs from the 16 to the 26 November at the Theatre on the Bay.
